*****Important Rule: shape of the hull of the boat MUST NOT be changed
Sails MUST be attached to the mast provided with the kit.*****
The Raingutter Regatta is a fun and exciting event where the rules are much more relaxed than the Pinewood Derby.  Like the Pinewood Derby, scouts are given a kit to build and asked to race their creation against each other.  Unlike the Pinewood Derby, the vehicle is a sailboat, the track is a raingutter filled with water, and the method of propulsion is the scouts own breath.

You should begin building your boat according to the enclosed instructions.  The only pack modification to the enclosed rules is that the shape of the hull of the boat should NOT be changed .  The hull of the boat may be sanded for painting, but the shape of the hull must not be altered.  Paint and/or decorate your vessel any way you want and bring it to Make certain to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your race time to register. Any scout who does not arrive and sign in by their designated time may not get an opportunity to race.   The entire event should be concluded by 5pm at the latest.
